This lab exercise once again has the students looking at metamorphic rock samples and interpreting their metamorphic histories. New to this week's lab, however, is an introduction to metamorphic phase diagrams. In much the same manner as they did with Igneous phase diagrams, the students will learn how to interpret and manipulate these Metamorphic phase diagrams to assist in the determination of the composition and history of metamorphic rocks.
