To download an electronic copy of this lab (Adobe PDF File), Click Here. This lab exercise, like the last one, will begin with a review of hand samples for the mineral identification exam after spring break. 35 more sample will be put out for the students to identify based on their physical properties. In the next portion of the lab, the students will be looking at wooden block crystal models again, this time a few more difficult ones, and studying their symmetry and form. This lab will also focus largely on the 14 Bravais Lattices, and introducing the students to what they are and how they work.
