Navigating This Site
- Course Objectives - This section talks a little bit about the course material, what it entails, and what you should take with you when you walk away from the course. This is by no means comprehensive, but rather merely meant to give you a general idea of what to expect in the months ahead.
- Course Requirements - This section goes over the prerequisites and requirements of this course. In this section you will find what is expected of each student throughout the course, grading policies, and several other useful pieces of information.
- Required Materials - In this section you will find a brief discussion of the materials necessary to adequately participate in this course and its laboratory section.
- Lecture Schedule - This section contains a tentative schedule for the lectures for this course. This section will be updated as things change, and will be updated to reflect quiz dates and homework assignments. Also, check here for useful links pertaining to specific lectures, as I will put any of particular interest here.
- Laboratory Schedule - This section contains a tentative schedule for the laboratory exercises for this course. This section will be updated at least from week to week, and more often as things change. You can find helpful hints on the lab assignments here, along with electronic files of all the lab handouts.
- Quizzes and Homeworks - This section will be devoted to the quizzes and homeworks you get in class. A veritable plethora of information can be found herein.
- Grades - Here is where you can find all of your grades for the semester, referenced by your SOLAR ID# so as to remain anonymous.
- Useful Links - There a hundreds, if not thousands, of sites on the web dedicated to some facet or another of mineralogy and petrology. I will put links to some of the ones that I have found to be of particular interest here. Also, if there are any you come across and think I should add, let me know so I can share it with the rest of the class!
