ART & Architecture

"The prestige of the library of the future will not be based upon the size of its collection but rather on the number of hits to its website." - Thorton Tibbals

The eventual goal is to have an archive, "New York Interactions with Asia and Asians in the Americas,"  at the Ward Melville Library at Stony Brook University.  That archive would also be completely online and would include designed for online viewing only archives of past events and exhibits at Stony Brook.  To begin that process, all Asian and Asian American art exhibits are being archived online, and there will be a conference on the Achievements of Asian American Architects, which will also be put online.

In addition, in the Spring of 2000, two SBU international students, Chi Gao and Wataru Sakaki, taking the course on web design with Prof. Tony Scarlatos and independent study with Staller Art Gallery Director Rhonda Cooper, combined their projects into prototypes for the architecture archives.  They are included here as well to give examples not just of simple websites put what is possible when using the website itself as a work of art.
