PLUS
SBU Alumni Weekend Events
"Planet Stony Brook"
Register
here for ALL
events
and to download forms for dorms. Everything is
FREE except major meals / housing but the continental breakfast is
the only event
you can register for without paying a fee. If you will not be attending
a paid event, register
for
the breakfast so your name shows up as someone who will be there Friday
night or Saturday.
SBU Alumni Association
You don't
have to join the SBU Alumni Association to attend but the
more who do
the more the they will plan events that interest us, i.e., not
football! Wouldn't
we all have had it easier if there had been alumni giving
back and caring? Make whatever you used to call it - SBU, USB,
the Brook,
Brookystone National, Stony, a place your own your own kids would want
to go!
Asian
American
Alumni
Association
We are an
informal alumni group with one desire -
to get alumni
to reconnect with each other, and with the
campus, to make Stony
Brook
THE
SUNY campus Asian American students consider the most
welcoming - and to provide
an alumni network after graduation. If Harvard
alumni hire Harvard
alumni,
Stony Brook alumni should hire Stony Brook alumni.
We ask alumni to
speak
on
leadership
and career opportunities
to students. If you
would like to be a
speaker
or get involved
in any capacity,
email
alumni@aa2sbu.org.
With voluntary
donations we currently sponsor the
Orientation Barbecue for incoming freshmen, transfers,
grads, and international students, the Fall Cabinet
to Cabinet
Social
to get student clubs collaborating, the Take a Break
From
Finals BBQ
at the end of the academic year, a May graduation buffet
luncheon for seniors, including a Student Leadership Awards ceremony,
funding for SBU AA E-Zine, work on the Hu
Scholarships, and much more.
Online Directory to Alumni
After a series
on alumni in the AA
E-Zine, we planned on online
directory because nothing else existed for alumni to alumni contact. But
now SBU AA has set
up a free online community. Except
that each person
can only have one photo, it is far superior. Please join. It has
the potential to
connect us all. The AA E-Zine will continue to do more in-depth
articles on alumni.
