Words from the Suttas/Sutras
"And how, bhikkhus, does a bhikkhu abide contemplating feelings as feelings? Here, when feeling a pleasant feeling, a bhikkhu understands: 'I feel a pleasant feeling'; when feeling an unpleasant feeling, he understands: 'I feel a painful feeling'; ... In this way he abides contemplating feelings as feelings internally, or he abides contemplating feelings as feelings externally, or he abides contemplating feelings as feelings both internally and externally. Or else he abides contemplating in feelings their arising factors, or he abides contemplating in feelings their vanishing factors, or he abides contemplating in feeling both their arising and vanishing factors. Or else mindfulness that 'there is feeling' is simply established in him to the extent necessary for bare knowledge and mindfulness. And he abides independent, not clinging to anything in the world. That is how a bhikkhu abides contemplating feelings as feelings."-- Majjhima Nikaya, Satipatthana Sutta

Quote of the Week
"We see that our personal lives and the whole of the universe cannot be separated. If you understand this, then when you think about being selfish you should ask, 'Selfish for what?' and 'Selfish for whom?' The self, body and mind, are inseparably linked to the entire universe, space and time. Selfish? Time and space are too wide. If you wish to be selfish include the entire world in your thoughts."--Master Sheng-yen

Transference of Merits
(To be recited after all practices)
May we be free from the three hindrances and the myriad vexations.
May we gain true wisdom and clear understanding.
May all obstacles and unwholesomeness be totally cleansed.
May we follow the Bodhisattva Path life after life.
