For colored girls...is such a wonderful piece for an actor can live out or relieve every emotion and experience of womanhood. It brings a splash of "color" to Stony Brook and Long Island in many ways. I am excited and proud to be a part of this amazing production.

Nithena Young

I am really excited to be a part of this production because I think these stories need to be portrayed so that everyone can be able to understand the struggles that woman of color go through on a daily basis.

Sherry Jones

When I heard the play on record, I knew at once I either had to be in it or see the production. This play is an amazing construction of life force and true emotions.

Lina Nguyen

I am a senior, who is majoring in Biochemistry and Theater. This is the first production that I am performing since my years in this school. I decided to audition this show because the content, not only moved and impressed me, is also a challenge for me to portray the value and meaning of struggle and survival to others. I feel that this choreopoem provides insights about issues that deal with every woman in the past, the present, and the future.

Zuri Wilson

Colored Girls means women who have freed themselves from endured pain in relationships. I'm excited about participating in this production because I can relate to the womenÕs experiences.

Kizzy Cotton

After reading "For Colored Girls..." I was emotionally drained. This is a very powerful play that everyone should see. No matter what color you are you will be able to identify with the characters and the pain, happiness, and self-awareness. I am pleased to be able to bring this experience to others.
