Mathematics has always been thought of essential part of the physical sciences such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Engineering. Seldom do people think that  it has anything to do with the Humanities and Social Sciences areas. However, Mathematics is in fact a vital part of the various Humanities and Social Sciences areas. It is evident in grants that have been awarded in the efforts to promote MATC ( Mathematics Across the Curriculum). An example of this is the Mathematics Across the Curriculum at Dartmouth College . Indeed, Mathematics is present in almost all areas of studies. Of all the Humanities disciplines, Music is the one that people think is most mathematical, because it requires one to count and it has symbols and notation, much like Mathematics. Art, to many people, is paintings and creations using different media. Have you heard of Eschers' Tessellations? Are they works of Art or Mathematics?

This page will link you to several sites where Mathematics is seen in the different disciplinces other than the physical sciences. It will also link you to some sites that might be interesting to you. This can serve as a resource for the teacher as well as student.
