HOW DO YOU BECOME A STUDENT CONSULTANT?

The Office of Instructional Computing is always in need of qualified students to perform the job of Student Consultant. We hire two groups of students, ones who specialize in the multi-user systems and ones who specialize in the Macintosh and PC systems. However, we encourage the students to become expert in all of the five major platforms that we support as well as in using the Internet and communications software to upload and download files between a multiuser and a personal user system.

We begin accepting resumes in April for the following September. We will interview candidates from the available pool of candidates and prior to the end of the school year in May, offer the most qualified applicants the job.

One of the requirements of the job is that you attend a two-day training camp. This training camp A.K.A. Boot Camp is held the last two days (Thursday and Friday) before classes resume in the late summer. If you are unable to attend the boot camp then you may not take the job.

Please submit your resume to Bronwen Heuer in the Offices of Instructional Computing, Melville Library, S1460. If you have any questions, you can either call 632-8054 or send mail to bronwen@ccvm.sunysb.edu.
