Mini "movies" can be made from a number of separate gif images
or even from a video file (with a bit of extra work). Animated gifs are
simply one gif file with many gifs stored in it sequentially. This sequence
can play once or it can loop. This is the nicest Mac based program I've
found is gifbuilder. You can even drag and drop files into it and put none
gif images and quicktime movies in to help choose the color palette.
