Definition Of D.I.V.A.S.

D is for Diversity ...
Distinctness; Having variety of character, of form, or of the elements of composition.
Diversity among the sisters of Lambda Fe Usöñ means that the personality of each sister is different and that each sister has something different to bring to the organization. Without diversity, there would be no individuality, everything sisters did would be the same, and each member's views would not be heard for fear that they would not be accepted. Also included in this diversity is the fact that sisters come from a variety of backgrounds. Diversity of background as well as diversity of personality is very important in producing a well-rounded organization.
I is for Intelligent... Brilliant; Rational; Having the powers of reflection, perception, consideration, or reason.
To be a D.I.V.A. of Lambda Fe Usöñ, the quality of intelligence is necessary. Intelligence is not necessarily having a high grade point average, although grades are important. I believe that intelligence is the willingness of a person to listen, then to take what they have heard and to turn that into knowledge. Being intelligent also includes the having the ability to take the negatives of life and find a way to turn them into a form that may be used positively.
V is for Valiant...
Bold-spirited; Determined; Brave; Possessing or acting with bravery and boldness.
Being valiant is being courageous enough to stand up for what you believe and feel in your heart. A sister must have this quality in order to correctly express the views of the sorority to outsiders. Not only is it important to be bold enough to express the organization's views, but it is important that those views come from within the heart. Otherwise, being valiant is meaningless.
A is for Authentic...
Real; Genuine; Unquestionable; Trustworthy; Worthy of acceptance or belief.
When looked up in a dictionary, this word has many meanings and synonyms, but authenticity by my terms begins with a person being true to their own heart. Before expecting others to believe in you, you must make sure that you believe in yourself and what you supposedly stand for. Without this, one can expect others to question their views. Being authentic also means that a person has nothing to hide, is true to their word and will do all that is necessary to prove this to anyone that has questions.
S is for Sisters...
A woman related or linked to another by a common tie or interests.
Sisters are women who are related, but not necessarily by bloodline. A sister should be someone who you can trust and talk to about anything that is on your mind. A sister is one that always understands no matter what the situation is. Sisters should always be there for each other when there is a need for comfort, and ready to tell each other (in a constructive manner) when the other is wrong or should do things differently.
