News
1) We will be meeting at the Chapin Community Center (Room A1002) this Thursday. The Center is located in the Chapin Apartment Complex, which is across the street from the University Hospital. Once you get into the Apartment Complex, walk along the sidewalk on the right hand side of the road (going in) and the meeting room is next to the first staircase of the first building. It has a half-glass door. There is a blue newspaper box and a black telephone outside.
2) We have updated "Once Upon a Time--a Collection of Buddhist Stories". Enjoy!

Words from the Suttas/Sutras
"I also remember in ancient times, for 500 lifetimes, I practiced transcendent endurance by not being caught up in the idea of a self, a person, a living being, or a life span. So, Subhuti, when a bodhisattva gives rise to the unequalled mind of awakening, he has to give up all ideas. He cannot not rely on forms when he gives rise to that mind, nor on sounds, smells, tastes, tactile objects, or objects of mind. He can only give rise to that mind that is not caught up in anything." --Diamond Sutra

Quote of the Week
"With a joyful, stable attitude, you can handle any situation in a clear and objective manner. You can even face death. Perhaps you may think it is ridiculous to feel joyful about your death? Well - that’s your choice. You can choose joy or not. But if you do not choose to be happy before you die, you won’t have a chance to do so afterwards."--Master Sheng-yen
