The aim of this course is to provide a comprehensive examination of Supreme Court decision making. Our examination will be aided by a series of computer databases on the Court, which we will analyze through the statistical software package SPSS for Windows. We will meet on Tuesdays in our regular classroom and on Thursdays in the Policano Computer Lab on the 7th floor of the SBS building (N-748). Although no prior computer experience is required for this course, prior statistical knowledge is. Students are required to have met the departmental methods requirement (POL 201 or equivalent) prior to having taken this course.
