Pre_Workshop Quizzes: due 2 hrs after the workshop.
NOTE! The quiz should
be accessible one week before duetime.
If you get an error like "This page cannot be found" you may be looking at an
old stale web page from an earlier look you took when
the quiz was not opened yet. Do the following in Internet Explorer click "View",
then "Refresh".
In Netscape simply click on RELOAD THE PAGE.
Please read these instructions carefully before you begin the quiz:
Give your results in SI units unless specified otherwise. Enter only the numerical result, not the unit.
You get your own randomly chosen input numbers. The computer gives you instant feedback
after you hit the "submit for grade " button giving the correct results in a separate
window for your current input numbers. Watch out! This window
can be hidden under other windows! When you "Submit Results" in that
window you get a confirmation for
the current submission on a separate page. This confirmation must contain
name, last 5 digits
of your ID#, grade submitted and date/time. You must see
this confirmation! Your grade has not been recorded otherwise ! Save the
confirmation page and attach it to your e-mail in case your grade does not
show up on the grade summary on the web and you want to prove that you did it.
You can
take the quiz as often as you like, however, after each submission of your results you
have to start with a different set of input
numbers. This means you must keep a record of your algebraic solutions,
such
that you can submit your last (best)
set completely for all problems. The computer
keeps your last submission for your grade. This
procedure makes you work with the algebraic solutions several times - a good preparation
for the workshop and exams.
If you get Javascript errors download the latest Microsoft Interent Explorer free here then click "Download", click "Download" again, click "OK"("Save this program to disk" is checked). Doubleclick "iesetup.exe" from the windows explorer in the folder where you downloaded it to. Follow the installation instructions.
