This web site is intended to educate people about Okinawan karate, specifically the style of Shorin-Ryu Shorinkan. This is a branch of Kobayashi Shorin-Ryu which is under the direct authority of Hanshi Shuguro Nakazato (10th Dan). There is also more to learn here than just karate. A history of karate, its different branches and influential instructors will be discussed. The culture of the Okinawan Prefecture will be presented along with Okinawan links which the user can access and read more about. Lastly, the Kobayashi Shorin-Ryu Shorinkan Dojo of New York will be detailed, to educate the user how a typical traditional karate dojo is run, and what someone would expect if they walked into such a school.
