OCTOBER CRAFTS
**Paper Plate Spider**
This craft can be done with children as young as 2 years old. Some assistance will be needed
with young children when using a scissor.
Supplies Needed
- White craft glue
- Small white paper plate
- Black construction paper
- Black marker
- Long piece of string
- Child safety scissors
What To Do:
The child can use the scissors to cut the black construction
paper into eight long strips. Accordian-fold the paper strips back
and forth onto themselves for the spiders legs. Poke two holes
through the center of the paper plate and thread string through.
Next you have to glue the spider legs around the edges of the paper
plate. (If you want, you can glue two pop-up eyes made out of white
paper, on top of the plate). The child can then use the black marker
to color the paper plate for the body of the spider. When you are
done the spider can be dangled from the string.
*Optional*
You can make a spider's web by gluing pieces of white string
in the pattern of a web, onto black construction paper.
